Niall Byrne (Chair)
Niall Byrne is a Managing Director and head of JPMorgan Chase's Asset & Wealth
Management audit group. Based in New York, he leads a global team of 50
individuals in various locations in the US, Europe and Asia, covering a
business that oversees more than $1 trillion in assets, is the second
largest active asset manager in the US and the third biggest private bank
globally.
Niall has worked in the financial services industry for over 17 years in
a variety of front office, operations and technology leadership roles, and
has spent time living and working in London, Brussels and New York. Prior to
joining JPMorgan in 1994 in London, he worked for Digital Equipment Corp. in
their Capital Markets division.
Niall received a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Manchester in the
U.K. and holds NASD series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. In addition to working
with icouldbe.org, Niall is also on the board of the Opera Company of
Brooklyn.
Seendy Fouron, Esq. (Secretary)
Seendy is a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Ambac Assurance Corporation (Ambac). Prior to joining Ambac, Seendy was Vice President and Counsel in the Legal Department at Credit Suisse and she also worked as an associate in the Finance Department in the New York office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe and Maw, LLP. Over the years, Seendy has been active in mentoring young adults through various programs such as Big Brother Big Sister, Law Explorers and various programs sponsored by the New York City public school system.
Seendy received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown Universitys School of Foreign Service and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Jim Medeiros (Treasurer)
Jim has over 15 years experience in accounting and financial management. He
is currently a Principal with Ernst & Young LLP in the New York Financial
Services Office On-call Consulting practice where he advises on complex
financial transactions including securitizations and derivatives. In the
past, Jim has worked as an auditor, controller, and consultant and has over
7 years experience performing financial due diligence on mergers and
acquisitions.
Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. in Business
Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
Adam Aberman (Founder and Former Executive Director)
Prior to becoming Youth Ventures Director of Global Online Strategy, Adam was the Executive Director and Founder (and currently Board Member) of icouldbe.org, the non-profit Internet-based career mentoring program that has served over 5,000 teens nationwide and in Tanzania www.icouldbe.org. Adam is also the Principal and Founder of The Learning Collective, a consulting organization that strengthens practices of youth-serving organizations. Prior to establishing icouldbe.org, Adam was a Regional Coordinator for the New York City Department of Education. Adam began his career in education as a Spanish bilingual public school teacher in Los Angeles. Adam received a B.A. from Vassar College and a Master's in Public Policy, with an emphasis on Education, from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Outside of work Adam enjoys hanging out with his lovely wife, Karlene, and his dog, Sausage, and doing yard work at their home in the West Adams district of Los Angeles.
Robert Clauser
Robert Clauser was most recently a Partner within the Media & Entertainment practice of Strategic Services at Accenture. His expertise is in competitive, growth, and value-creation strategy having lead engagements in the U.S.A., Asia and Europe for the worlds leading entertainment, media, and eCommerce companies. His work spanned leveraging consumers and content across traditional and new media to designing and developing a major new digital sound studio project. In his Accenture role, Robert also served as the head of the Community Service task force for Metropolitan New York. Most notably, Robert had championed Neighborhood Enterprise, a web enabled counseling service that helps to bridge the Digital Divide.
Robert is the Chief Executive Officer and producer for Montage Entertainment, an acclaimed non-profit independent film production company chartered to advance under-represented peoples in the filmed entertainment community. As founder, and currently secretary, of Figure Skating in Harlem, Robert has helped to build and run this sport and educational programs bringing skating and its benefits to at risk youths in Harlem.
Robert holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (and was recipient of the First National Bank of Chicago Scholarship); completed course work at Waseda University, Tokyo; and holds a B.A. cum laude from The University of Michigan.
Kelli Moles
Kelli Moles is an analyst in the JP Morgan Chase Investment Bank, where she works in Syndicated & Leverage Finance, High Grade Origination, and Tax Exempt Capital Markets. She holds a bachelors degree in Economics and Accounting with a Minor in Spanish from Missouri State University. Kelli has worked as an activist on a variety of levels. While in college she founded Public Affairs Week– a movement which encourages students to get involved in their communities. Additionally, she started the first collegiate chapter of Business and Professional Women to address the challenges women and minorities face in the workplace. Kelli is passionate about international travel and study–she has studied on four continents and traveled to over 30 countries.
Steven Petersen
Steve is the Global Controller of TPG-Axon Capital, an investment firm with offices in New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Prior to joining the firm in June of 2005, he was the Global Operational Risk Manager of the Proprietary Trading Business in J.P. Morgan Chases investment bank. Before joining JPMC, he worked as an accountant in Arthur Andersen LLPs tax practice. Steve graduated with a BBA in Accouting from Hofstra University in 1996.
Kate Schrauth (Executive Director)
Kate Schrauth, Executive Director of icouldbe.org and former Chair of the
icouldbe.org Board of Directors, has over 20 years of experience in the
nonprofit sector and has played a variety of leadership roles including founder
and director, development director, and board member. Most recently she was
Director of Development for Jumpstarts Mid-Atlantic Region. Previously, Kate
was the Director of Development at the Robert J. Milano Graduate School of
Management and Urban Policy at New School University. While well known for
her fund development background, her skills are a balance of program design
and managing strategic growth of young and entrepreneurial organizations.
From 1996 to 1999 she was the Director of Development and Director of New
Programs at Harvard Student Agencies at Harvard University, an entrepreneurial
student organization with earned income revenues grossing over $6 million a
year. Prior to her work at academic institutions, she co-founded and directed
Artists for Humanity, an arts and entrepreneurial organization serving
hundreds of at-risk, urban youth from Boston Public schools. Kate attended
Boston University majoring in the field of Political Science.
Mitch Esquivel Wells
Mitch Wells is the former Vice President of Creative at Lowe Live, where he
develops web sites and online advertising campaigns for clients such as
Dell, Sprite, HSBC, and Amstel Light. Prior to that, Mitch was the original
Art Director at I-Traffic, Agency.coms online advertising division where he
developed campaigns for Disney, CDnow, and the Discovery Channel. Mitch
began his career as the first Art Director at Jupiter Communications. His
offline design has included print campaigns for the American Stock Exchange,
and the typography of Colin Powells Autobiography.
Mitch received his Bachelors degree from Columbia University in the field of
Philosophy.
Lawrence Writer
Lawrence Writer is a Vice President with the Carlyle Group in their New York office, focusing on high yield opportunities in the telecom & media sectors. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Writer was an Associate in the Financing Group at Goldman Sachs where he focused on structuring financing transactions, special situations and portfolio management. Prior to that, he was a trader at Wells Fargo Bank focused on emerging markets. Lawrence lived in Europe for more than 10 years, is fluent in German and Dutch and enjoys traveling whenever possible. In his free time, Lawrence also enjoys mentoring, spending time with family and training for triathlons.
Lawrence received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School and an M.A. in international studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degrees in economics and international studies from the Jackson School at the University of Washington in Seattle.
