Dear members, friends, partner schools and supporters of icouldbe.org,

Welcome to icouldbe.org! Our online mentoring programs connect at-risk students from low-income communities with mentors who positively impact their goals and plans for the future. Whether you’re interested in mentoring, supporting icouldbe.org or learning more about our programs and new initiatives, I hope you are inspired by the successes of our e-mentoring programs and encourage you to get involved.

To our mentors, partner schools, corporate sponsors and supporters, our thanks for your continued support and enthusiasm. You are part of the icouldbe.org family and we could not do the work we do without you!

The magnitude of the educational problem we seek to address is truly staggering. This year alone, 1.2 million young people will drop of out of school, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and jeopardizing opportunities for a better future. Studies point to young people not being prepared to move on from high school even if they do graduate.

For things to improve, we must invest in our youth and reach them with the guidance, support and encouragement they need. icouldbe.org is here to help, connecting caring adults directly to young people who often lack adults invested in their futures. In addition to the personal support our e-mentoring program provides our students, we bring the relevancy of the real world into classrooms to create concrete links between what they do in school and the futures they are actively creating.
