Message from the Founder of icouldbe.org

As a bilingual teacher in Los Angeles, a volunteer in Boston’s inner-city charter schools, and the New York City Board of Education’s Brooklyn Field Representative, I saw firsthand the disparities between high- and low-income students’ access to post-secondary education opportunities and career guidance. As a result, armed with a Masters degree from the Kennedy School of Government and years of education-related experience, as well as a desire to make a difference, I left my full-time job to found icouldbe.org – the premier online educational and career planning program connecting volunteer adult mentors with the United States’ most underserved middle and high school students.

By mentoring the next generation through the Internet, icouldbe.org leads teens out of their small, all too often isolating worlds to imagine a larger world of possibilities and take steps towards careers and futures they never imagined. As Founder, former Executive Director, current board member and mentor, I would like to thank all of the icouldbe.org mentors, teachers, corporate partners, donors, board members and staff as we continue helping teens around the US and the world realize their futures.

Please consider becoming an icouldbe.org mentor today!
