Q: Do I get to pick my e-mentors?
A: Yes! There are search tools on the website to find e-mentors that you want to communicate with.

Q: Do I get to work with more than one e-mentor?
A: Yes. The number of e-mentors you’ll work with is up to you!

Q: Do I get to meet my e-mentors in person?
A: No. All your communications happen on the website.

Q: Are the e-mentors safe?
A: Yes. icouldbe.org does background checks on all our e-mentors.

Q: How many e-mentors are there?
A: There are hundreds of e-mentors to choose from. They’re all people who have volunteered to help you think about your future because they didn’t have something like icouldbe.org when they were teens (and they wish they had something like this)!

Q: When can I use icouldbe.org?
A: 24/7 from any computer with Internet access.

Q: What happens if one of my e-mentors is not super responsive?
A: icouldbe.org cannot guarantee that all e-mentors will actively be using the website. That being said, because the icouldbe.org website is mentee driven, it’s cool for you to take the responsibility to troubleshoot the situation as much as possible. Remember: sometimes adults get busy with their families and jobs and need extra time to get back on track. It’s OK. They’ll probably be back online soon.”

First, email your e-mentors your schedule so they know what days and times you are online. Ask for their icouldbe.org online times too. Hopefully, you’ll be online at the same times.

If you’ve already done that, email your e-mentors and tell them nicely that you have not heard from them in a while, you hope everything is okay, and can they email you as soon as possible.

If you have done that and have not heard from your e-mentors email info@icouldbe.org and the icouldbe.org team will do our best to resolve the situation.
