Celebrating Youth Voices
•2000
iCouldBe launches with a bold mission: virtually connect high school students with mentors empowering young people to thrive in school, plan for future careers and achieve in life.
•2004
Established corporate partnership model to support thousands of students and engage employees as mentors. E*Trade began in the early 2000s and later AT&T earned the distinction of being the largest and longest-standing partner.
•2010
Two research studies published in 2010 and 2013 prove iCouldBe's career-connected curriculum effectiveness in raising self- efficacy, career identity, and career- related motivation and ambition.
•2015
iCouldBe builds groundbreaking data science tools tracking real- time mentee-mentor participation, progress, and relationship development to support measuring program impact and outcomes.
•2020
COVID crisis response: iCouldBe partners with MENTOR, Gates Foundation and AT&T to support in-person programs. 1,500 mentoring matches supported through 2021. Johns Hopkins publishes research on our efforts to support the field and a secondary analysis again shows iCouldBe increases student self-efficacy.
•2021
Leveraging lessons learned during the pandemic, iCouldBe embraces social capital development and centering youth voices in our curriculum and expanded programming including mentee paid internships, focus groups and a Youth Advisory Board.
•2022
iCouldBe launches new curriculum and Connections Mapping tool to teach students to identify and engage their support networks to reach their academic and career goals.
•2025

iCouldBe has served over 27,500 mentees in 288 communities across 36 states, D.C. and Canada25 for 25 Campaign

Launch a virtual Alumni Program to extend programming to mentees in senior year of high school, and to and through post-secondary opportunities and into first careers to include mentor-driven access to internships, skill development, and jobs.
